Hargray Storm Preparation Tips

In the event a storm impacts internet, cable or phone services, we keep our customers updated on our Facebook page and with recorded messages at 877-427-4729.

Our response team closely monitors the progress of impending storms so that we may respond appropriately should the need arise. We urge all our customers to stay safe and follow the directives of local public safety officials.

Additionally, as a precaution, we recommend the following tips for your equipment and data.

Back-Up Your Data

Ahead of the storm, we recommend that you back up your data and plug your TV, modem, and cable box into a surge protector to protect them from damage in case of lightning or a sudden power outage.

Check Your Batteries

Communication is critical during a severe weather incident. Ensure your batteries are fully charged to support cell phones, home phones, and other communication devices.

Power Outages

If you experience a power outage, you may need to reset your modem or set-top box once power has been restored.

  1. Power off your modem or set-top box.
  2. Unplug the device from the power source and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the modem or set-top box to the power source and turn the device on to start the reset.
  4. Reset may take up to 2 minutes.
  5. For assistance, call Technical Support at 877-427-4729.

Please note that we may experience longer than usual hold times following a storm due to the potential impact on our associates and customers. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
