Hargray Notification Updates

General Notifications

Hargray Paperless Billing Customers:

As a result of switching to Paperless Billing, the $2/per month paper bill credit customers previously received to offset our $2 paper bill fee will be removed from your upcoming monthly bill.

Federal Universal Service Charge

Effective October 1, 2023, the amount of the Federal Universal Service charge appearing on your bill each month will increase due to an increase in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) universal service fund contribution factor from 29.2% to 34.5%. The Federal Universal Service amount is calculated by multiplying the FCC’s universal service contribution factor against your interstate access service charges. The Federal Universal Service Fund Program is designed to help keep local telephone service rates affordable for all customers, in all areas of the United States. For more information about the FCC, please visit www.fcc.gov.

Broadcaster Agreements

At Sparklight (formerly Hargray), we work hard to keep you connected to the shows and channels you enjoy — and we want to keep you in the loop about any upcoming changes that may affect your video service. Here are the latest updates:

ESPN Disney & Fox Networks Negotiations

We’re currently working with ESPN Disney and Fox Networks to renew our agreements so we can continue delivering the channels you enjoy.

  • Our agreement with ESPN Disney is set to expire July 31, 2025, and our agreement with Fox Networks runs through Aug. 31, 2025.

  • We know these channels are important to many of our customers, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to avoid any interruption.

Our goal is to reach new agreements that keep your favorite programming right where it belongs — with you.

HBO & Cinemax Channel Lineup Update

Starting Aug. 15, 2025, some changes are coming to the HBO and Cinemax premium channel lineups.
The following channels will no longer be available:

  • HBO Family

  • Thriller Max

  • Outer Max

  • Movie Max

This change is part of a broader decision by Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of HBO and Cinemax, to retire some of their multiplex channels.

What’s staying the same? You’ll continue to have access to all other HBO and Cinemax channels currently included in your subscription. And if you're an HBO subscriber, you’ll still enjoy access to HBO Max streaming — at no extra cost.

WANF and WUPA Affiliation Change (Lake Oconee Area Only)

Customers in the Lake Oconee, GA region (including Buckhead, Eatonton, Greensboro, Morgan Co., Putnam Co., and Greene Co.) will see a change in the network affiliations of two local broadcast stations beginning Aug. 16, 2025:

  • WANF (Ch. 11 / HD 421) will change from CBS to Independent content

  • WUPA (Ch. 8 / HD 418) will become the new CBS affiliate

There will be no change to channel numbers, just a switch in the content carried on each channel.

We appreciate you being part of the Sparklight community. If you have any questions about these updates, we're always here to help.
