Hargray Announces the Addition of ACC Network to Channel Lineup

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — August 15, 2019 — Hargray Communications announced today the addition of the ACC Network to its channel lineup beginning August 22, 2019. The new 24/7 sports network, owned and operated by ESPN in partnership with the Atlantic Coast Conference, has 1,300 broadcast events planned in the first year, including approximately 40 regular-season football games, 150 men's and women's basketball games, and over 200 other ACC-sponsored sporting events.

David Armistead, Senior Vice President of Hargray Communications, remarked, ”We recognize many of our customers in South Carolina and Georgia enjoy ACC sports, including Clemson and Georgia Tech, and a survey of our customers revealed that this content was extremely important to their viewing experience.   For that reason, we are adding the ACC Network on August 22.  Due to carriage requirements, we will carry the ACC Network on both our Digital Lite and Premier tiers of service.  We continue to push content providers to amend requirements that prohibit us from selectively providing content to individual customers based on their viewing preferences and desired level of spend.  As our customers know, programming content is expensive, particularly sports programming, and this channel is no different.”

Hargray customers can enjoy the first Atlantic Coast Conference football game of the 2019 season, as Clemson, the defending national champion, hosts Georgia Tech on August 29, 2019, at 8:00 PM. The ACC Network will be broadcast on Channel 71 on Hargray's Classic Lineup and Channel 37 on the Enhanced Lineup. The new network will also be available as part of Hargray's Digital Lite and Premier TV packages.
