Hargray Email Retirement

Effective February 25, 2023, Hargray will no longer offer residential or business email. This change will have no impact on your internet service with Hargray. Email will be retired in phases through the end of the year. As a result, your email accounts provided by Hargray (@Hargray.com) will need to be transitioned to a new email provider before your migration date, outlined below:

  • Effective Dec. 15, 2022, Hargray will discontinue offering residential email service to customers in Georgia, Florida and Alabama. As a result, email accounts provided by Hargray for customers in these locations will need to be transitioned to a new email provider prior to that date. Any emails left in your Hargray email account with a [email protected] email address as of Dec. 15, 2022, will be permanently deleted and unrecoverable. 

 

  • Effective Dec. 29, 2022, Hargray will discontinue offering residential email service to customers in the following areas of South Carolina: Beaufort, Ridgeland, Lady's Island, Port Royal, Saint Helena Islands, Seabrook, Daufuskie Island, Sheldon, Burton, Yemassee, North Charleston, Varnville, Lobeco, Columbia, Mc Connells, Estill, Parris Island, Simpsonville, Eutawville, Taylors, Fairfield, Waterboro, Lancaster, Fort Mill and Levy. As a result, email accounts provided by Hargray for customers in these locations will need to be transitioned to a new email provider prior to that date. Any emails left in your Hargray email account with a [email protected] email address as of Dec. 29, 2022, will be permanently deleted and unrecoverable. 

 

  • Effective Jan. 12, 2023, Hargray will discontinue offering residential email service to customers in the areas of Hardeeville, Okatie, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. As a result, email accounts provided by Hargray for customers in these locations will need to be transitioned to a new email provider prior to that date. Any emails left in your Hargray email account with a [email protected] email address as of Jan. 12, 2023, will be permanently deleted and unrecoverable. 

 

  • Effective Jan. 26, 2023, Hargray will discontinue offering residential email service to customers in Bluffton, South Carolina. As a result, email accounts provided by Hargray for customers in these locations will need to be transitioned to a new email provider prior to that date. Any emails left in your Hargray email account with a [email protected] email address as of Jan. 26, 2023, will be permanently deleted and unrecoverable. 

 

OTHER ACTION REQUIRED:

1. If you use your Hargray email address to log in to Hargray services, please update your account with your new email address via your MyHargray.com online account or fill out this form requesting us to update your new email.  You can also reach our representatives at (877) HARGRAY for assistance. 

2. If you use your Hargray email address to log in to Hargray services such as TiVo or TV Everywhere, please update your login information with your new email address right away.

3. If you're using your Hargray email address as a username or contact for any of your online billing accounts or social media accounts, we suggest you update those accounts with your new email address as soon as possible.

Why are you discontinuing my Hargray email account?

Many of our customers have expressed the need for a more robust email offering than what Hargray currently provides. Because of this, the number of customers using our email has steadily declined over the past several years. As a result, we are discontinuing email service.

 

When will discontinuation of Hargray email take place?

Customers will receive advance communication via email with the timeframe of the email discontinuation in your area.

How will I know when email is being retired in my area?

You will receive 60 days’ notice before your email service is discontinued to allow enough time for a successful transition. During the 60-day window, you will receive multiple follow-up notices and reminders with helpful instructions on how to download existing emails and contacts; how to set up a new email account; and how to upload emails to your new email account. Our goal is to make this process as easy and seamless as possible.

Can I begin the process of moving my email before I receive notice from Hargray?

Absolutely. You can sign up for an alternative email service and begin using it any time you like. Free email services with more robust offerings include Gmail or Mail.com.

What do I need to do once I receive notification with the date my email will be retired?

Customers must select a new email provider and export their contacts and any emails they wish to save from their Hargray/ email account.

Will I receive a credit / reduced bill once I no longer have email through Hargray?

Email is an add-on service that Hargray has provided to our internet customers at no charge. Because we do not charge for this service, we will not be applying credits once email is retired.

Premium email services (such as Gmail and Outlook), are available at no cost and offer a vast array of functionality, including the ability to create multiple email addresses, abundant storage space, and a wide variety of email management tools. Additionally, these services are portable, meaning you can keep your email address should you ever move out of Hargray service area.
