SC Lifeline and Link-Up Programs
What are Lifeline and Link-Up?
Lifeline and Link-Up are federal programs offering telephone discounts to low-income consumers in all U.S. states and territories. The LIFELINE assistance program provides a monthly credit of $13.50 on a monthly residential landline telephone bill. LINK-UP provides a 50 percent reduction of the installation and service charges (up to $30) to qualifying residential customers.
Who Qualifies?
These programs are to qualifying consumers in every state, territory and commonwealth. Eligibility varies by state. You may qualify for LIFELINE and LINK-UP if you receive one of the following:
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
- Food Stamps
- Medicaid
