Last week, we previewed The Beaufort Water Festival, which showcases the best of the best in the Lowcountry with 10 days of can’t-miss fun!
Held for more than 60 years, this summer’s festival takes place from July 15-24 at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park and is packed with something for everyone–arts and crafts, bocce, badminton, raft races, croquet, a children’s toad fishing tournament, shrimp boat tours, beauty pageant, music, dancing and more.
Not only is Hargray a proud core sponsor of the festival, we’re also competitors in one of its finest events! On Saturday, July 16, two Hargray teams participated in the Raft Race along the Waterfront Park Seawall. While we didn’t nab first, Hargray’s two teams, “Row, Beau” and “The Aquaholics,” had very strong showings. Row, Beau even placed third in the Commercial category! Read the full results here.
We also had a ton of fun. See us in action in our YouTube video shot on our team’s GoPro!
It was a beautiful summer day and our “crew members” gave it their all. Teamwork is an important value at Hargrave, and it was easy to see that our two groups had a strong sense of comradery. A shout out to our rowers, who were energized and synergized, which made their work look so easy. We can tell you first hand that it’s certainly a work out!
Overall, the morning was full of family fun (while bringing out our competitive side at times!). There’s still a few days left, so we encourage you and your family and friends to get out and enjoy what The Beaufort Water Festival has to offer.
