Summer brings sunshine and heat pretty much everywhere, but in the Lowcountry, it also brings traditions that make this place unique. One of those is the Beaufort Water Festival, and it’s as good as it gets for summer entertainment.
From July 15-24, there’s no place better than Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park! Ten days packed with something for absolutely everyone: arts and crafts, bocce, badminton, raft races, croquet, a children’s toad fishing tournament, shrimp boat tours, beauty pageant, music, dancing and more. It all starts with a bang as fireworks light up the sky at Friday’s opening ceremony.
Once again, Hargray is proud to help make this dream of an event a reality as one of its core sponsors. We do it not just because you love it – but because we love it, too! Because, seriously, what’s not to love? It’s really a showcase of the best of the Lowcountry, and it’s been going on for more than 60 years!
This year, you can win tickets from Hargray! Simply comment to tell us what you love BEST about WaterFest on our Facebook page, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #BeaufortH2OFest2016. We’ll choose winners at random to receive tickets to events throughout the week. The more you enter, the better your odds of winning!
Saturday sets the tone with a concert featuring country music stars Canaan Smith and LOCASH. The talent show is scheduled for Wednesday, July 20, and is always a blast. Hungry? Grab a Lowcountry Supper on Thursday. Saturday, July 23rd is loaded with the grand parade, an air show and the Commodore’s Ball. It all wraps up with the Blessing of the Fleet and Parade of Boats. Click here for full schedule.
And that’s just some of the highlights. Overall, two dozen events make this one of the great summer get-togethers the Lowcountry has to offer. Musical performances throughout the week from Deas Guyz, The Return, a Beatles tribute band, The Breakfast Club (Friday), and more will provide the tunes to keep the party going into the night.
Come on, join the fun! If you’ve ever been, you know you can’t miss it. And if you’ve never been, you’ll realize soon that you’ve been missing out.
